2024 - A Year in Review

2024 has been an extraordinary year for Seattle Animal Watch (SAW) and we've made exciting strides in championing animal welfare in Seattle. This year, we proudly launched the Coalition for Animal Welfare in Seattle (CAWS)—a coalition of advocates, organizations, and volunteers committed to reforming and elevating animal welfare standards in Seattle through collaborative action, innovative solutions, and persistent advocacy.

As we look forward to building on this momentum in 2025, let’s reflect on the highlights of 2024:

  • Global Reach: Our website attracted 563 unique visitors from 17 countries, showing world-wide interest in data-driven animal advocacy efforts.

  • Local Engagement: A whopping 75% of our visitors hailed from Washington State, with Seattle leading in website activity, followed by Bellevue, Renton, Mercer Island, and Federal Way.

  • Growing Community: Our mailing list saw an impressive 149% increase in subscribers, strengthening our base of advocates.

  • Informed Advocacy: We researched and published 46 articles, advancing knowledge and awareness on critical animal issues.

  • Transparency: SAW submitted 9 Public Disclosure Requests to the City of Seattle, promoting accountability and data-driven action.
